Over the past few years, Disney Junior has offered its youngest viewers new and interesting characters. From Sofia the First to Elena of Avalor, from Miles from Tomorrowland to Henry Hugglemonster, there seems to be a new favorite show appearing every year.
This year is no exception.
In October, Disney Junior premiered a ghoulishly delightful tale of fitting in entitled Vampirina. Based on the character from the Anne Marie Pace Vampirina Ballerina series, this young vampire has to learn to adjust to her new life in Pennsylvania, which is far different than her hometown, Transylvania. Her new school, her new friends her new teacher and her new neighbors all have to adjust to this different kind of family...and the family has to adjust to their new environment as well.
Along with life lessons that are taught, there is also delightful music to go with the show. This combination has already made Vampirina a hit with the preschool crowd.
Here is how you can host a Disney Junior Vampirina party for your child.

There are three different versions of personalized Vampirina birthday party invitations available. They are a digital download that you can personalize on your own computer and are a 5x7 size.
Vampirina Inspired Paper Goods for the Perfect Table
Presently, there are no Vampirina party goods available with her likeness. However, you can create the perfect tablescape with Vampirina's signature colors of pink, purple and black. Based on your tablecloth color, chose the contrasting plate color. For example, if you select a pink tablecloth, choose purple plates.
Or you can choose the opposite. For utensils, choose black.
Vampirina Party Games
After your guests arrive, you will want to play some party games with them. Here are some ideas to get the party going.
Bat Relay Race
Create two pairs of bat wings from posterboard (these directions are for butterfly wings but you get the idea). Divide the children into two teams and help the first child on each team put the wings on. Have them "fly" to a designated spot, turn around, and then fly back to the line. The next child puts on the wings and does the same. Repeat until each child has had a turn.
Vampirina Scavenger Hunt
Print out pictures of the Vampirinia characters and hide them around your house or backyard. Give teams a bag to fill with the pictures they find.
Vampirina Dance Party
This little vampire loves to dance! Have a dance party and teach the children how to do a few simple steps or just play Freeze Dance to Vampirina songs.
Vampirina Party Crafts
After running around and playing games, you may want to calm the children down with a quiet craft. Be sure to have a sample of the completed project to show the children. Not only does this give them a visual of the finished product, but it also is a way for you to work out any kinks in the project because you are creating one ahead of time.

Crayons (make sure to have plenty of black, pink and purple for Vampirina and blue and dark blue for Demi and Wolfie)
Glue sticks
Scissors
Have the children color in one or all of the of the Vampirina characters. Depending on their age, they may need help cutting out the character. They can use glue sticks to stick them to the paper bag.
Make a Bat Ears Headband

Food to Serve at Your Vampirian Birthday Party
Besides cake, what else can you serve at your Vampirina party?

You can make them ahead of time or you can have this as your edible craft/take home party favor. Use these decorations to make them special.
Use white icing and these neon gel food colors to get Vampirina's colors.
After icing the cookies, use pink or purple sprinkles or sugars to decorate.
Last, use these edible eyes to make them look bat-tastic!

For healthier snacks, you can use the cookie cutters to make bat shaped fruit slices and cheese. Make bat shaped sandwiches as well with the cookie cutters for a fun, inexpensive place to put the cheese.

Nothing makes a splash at the party like a themed cake. These do not have to be expensive creations...just bake your own cake or buy a supermarket cake and add your own Vampirina cake topper to it.
